Introduction

Here at Ouellette Karate & Self-Defence, we offer various programs that accommodate adults of different ages and abilities.  Whether you are in shape, or out of shape, beginner or advanced, this program has something for you!  Our classes not only provide you with an upbeat cardiovascular workout, you will also tone and condition your muscles through training aids such as focus mitts and kicking shields.

Our warm-ups are high energy and incorporate basic martial art techniques to increase your Fitness.  Our instructors combine movements that enhance flexibility, coordination and aerobic (heart-lung) capacity.  In this portion of the class, you stretch, punch and kick in a rapid workout designed to elevate the heart rate to a fat-burning state.

The various types of drills that are done during class build endurance, strength and speed.  Each class will allow you to learn habits and disciplines that will impact other areas of your life, such as relaxation techniques to relieve stress.  Adult students of all abilities and backgrounds will benefit from our training program.  These classes offer a blend of classical traditions and techniques with practical and realistic martial arts skills that are relevant to modern self-defence situations.

Participants will engage in challenges that are both exciting and safe.  Our curriculum includes all the fun of sport karate, coupled with practical and effective self-defence training.  Our goal is to provide students with a friendly environment that will encourage development of technical skills, as well as their concentration and confidence to face the challenges and pressures of everyday life.
